President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in seven new ministers to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) following their confirmation by the Senate. The ceremony was held on Monday at the council chamber of Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
The newly appointed ministers include Nentawe Yilwatda, who will serve as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, appointed as Minister of Labour and Employment; and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who takes on the role of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Other appointments include Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; Idi Mukhtar Maiha as the Minister of the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development; Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Trade and Investment; and Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.

This development comes just two weeks after President Tinubu dismissed five ministers from his original cabinet of 45, subsequently requesting the Senate to screen and confirm these seven new members to fill both existing and newly created positions. With this latest appointment, the number of ministers in the cabinet has now reached 47.
Overall, the Tinubu cabinet consists of a total of 52 members, including other cabinet-level positions such as Special Advisers to the President.
During the swearing-in ceremony, President Tinubu addressed the new ministers, urging them to embrace their responsibilities. “Nigeria’s head is above the waters. This ship will not sink. We will not run away from our responsibilities,” he stated. “I am proud to lead you, and we will lead you to success and prosperity. We have taken the bull by the horns. We have stopped the scavengers and profiteers…”
