The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended four teenagers over an accusation of criminal conspiracy and rape of an unnamed 17-year-old girl.
The suspects who were students of Government Secondary School, Sugu in Ganye local government area of the state were identified as Sikari Mathew, and Colins Cambull, both 16 years old as well as Barnabas Simon and Ferdinand Mathew who are both 17 years old respectively.
Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement, said the suspects were arrested on the 24th of November, 2024.
Nguroje said the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris had ordered that the teenagers be taken into protective custody pending the outcome of the investigation and legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

He stressed that the suspects conspired and raped the 17 years old girl after intoxicating her with beer.
“During the investigation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime by having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim one after the other,” Nguroje added.
He expressed the concern of the police CP over the ugly incident, assuring that the law must definitely take its course at the end of the investigation
