British-Nigerian shoe designer Liz Sanya has successfully set a new Guinness World Record for the largest sandal.
The massive pink clog measures 3.156 metres in width and 8.147 metres in length.
Sanya designed and built the sandal within 72 hours, from 2 January to 4 January, at Pixel Park in Lekki, Lagos.
The event was attended by several celebrities, including Pheelz, Mayorkun, Korty EO, and P.Prime.

Sanya’s achievement breaks the previous record held by a group of artisans from Municipio De Sahauyo, whose sandals measured 7.45 metres long and 3.09 metres wide.
Liz’s journey began on 2nd January at 5 p.m. and concluded on the 4th, with the process taking a dedicated 72 hours to complete. Reflecting on her drive for innovation and excellence, Liz Sanya shared her passion for her craft, stating:
I’ll never be able to put into words what any of this means to me, I started designing shoes when I was 12 and by 14 I was selling them to fund a ‘habit’ I couldn’t afford. None of this has been possible without the support and compassion of the people who see me and believe in my vision. Ibadan… where I was born. Lagos where I was inspired.
