Former Nigeria international, Sunday Oliseh has revealed what impressed him in the first half of Chelsea’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.
Chelsea went into the game against Man City as the inferior team, having failed to get a win over Pep Guardiola’s side since they defeated them in the UEFA Champions League final in 2021.
Also, Mauricio Pochettino’s men had eighteen points less than City despite playing a game more, heading into the clash on Saturday evening at Etihad Stadium.
The Blues defended doggedly and took the lead in the 42nd minute through Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea maintained their lead till the 83rd minute when Rodri drew level for the host as both teams got a point each.
However, Oliseh was impressed with Chelsea’s ‘spirited defending’ as he wrote on X:
“Though just halfway through, the spirited defending so far by Chelsea’s central defenders is a pleasant surprise, finally.
“With a little bit of luck, Chelsea could have been 1-3 up. You should expect a 2nd half Man City fight back though.”
