Popular social media personality and crossdresser Mr. Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has candidly discussed his struggles with suicidal thoughts amid a bribery controversy involving an alleged ₦15 million payment to officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The scandal was ignited by fellow influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who released an audio recording claiming that Bobrisky sought to bribe EFCC officials to dismiss money laundering charges against him.
On Thursday, Bobrisky took to Instagram, revealing the profound emotional toll the situation has exerted on his mental health.
In a now-deleted post, he expressed his feelings of despair, stating, “I have never in my life thought about suicide… but now it’s coming to my head seeing what human beings are doing to their fellow human just because you don’t like them.”
Despite his apparent plea for support, Bobrisky emphasized that he seeks no sympathy from others, sharing, “I don’t need no sympathy from anyone. People I might have needed sympathy from are my late parents. But who will fight for you? Friends? HATERS YOU WON.”
Meanwhile, the allegations further suggest that Bobrisky attempted to bribe prison officials to allow him to serve his sentence in a private residence, amplifying the gravity of the accusations.
The voice note that triggered the uproar also implicated human rights lawyer Femi Falana, adding another layer to the unfolding drama.

Additionally, rapper Falz has been drawn into the controversy, accused of having a financial arrangement with Bobrisky for a presidential pardon while he was incarcerated.
In a letter to VeryDarkMan, Falz issued a 24-hour ultimatum for him to retract his claims and apologize, countering that it was Bobrisky who sought to pay officials ₦3 million for a VIP prison section, an offer he ultimately refused.
In response to the allegations, the House of Representatives has initiated an investigation into the bribery claims involving the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
