Aso Ebi: Turning Passion into Business

The Red Rose And Lily  Aso Ebi Story
Taking a brief delve into the Aso Ebi history shows the Yoruba ethnic race as the originator.
The intention was to ensure that family members were duly recognized during significant parties or occasions by invitees. Therefore, Aso Ebi helps create not just uniformity in terms of dressing but also some sense of social identification, emotion, and brotherhood among family members, nuclear or extended.
However, this culture has gained importance and been adopted by different ethnic cultures in Nigeria and globally. This spotlight projects the motivating factor that spurred a notable lady of courage to start the Aso Ebi business despite being a master’s degree holder; to ensure customers get the best value and services with a touch of class, glamour, and uniformity.
Olabisi Wusu Taiwo is based in the United States of America, she was born and bred in Badagry, Lagos State. She is a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, formerly Ogun State University. She also received a master’s degree from the prestigious University of Lagos in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) in 2012.

How It All Started:
For every viable, productive, and profitable business idea, passion, zeal, and commitment spur such thinking. For me, I will say passion was the reason behind the idea of having a company that helped individuals and families solve issues of fabrics or clothing during significant events or programs. Since my secondary school days, I have had a passion for buying and selling. My friends and colleagues would always reach out to me during my university days to help them source aso ebi whenever the need arose.
Those days, I was a constant face at Lagos Island (Balogun market or Aswani) helping them shop for fabrics in vogue or capable of driving sensationalism, luxury, taste, and trend. After obtaining a master’s degree and being busy searching for employment opportunities with none available at that time, one day, while reminiscing on life and prospects, the thought came: “Why can’t you turn your passion into a business?” This gave birth to what we have today, the Red Rose and Lily Aso Ebi. And since then, I have never looked back.
Funding:
The funding aspect of the business was not included at the start. This is because anyone who watches the wind will not sow, and anyone who watches the storm will not harvest. As a result, funding was the last thing on my mind at the start, but as time passed, I realized it would be a great idea to include it. God has been faithful ever since. A customer does not have to wait for her loved ones to pay because I supply and distribute both in America and in Nigeria.
