Bola Tinubu’s Visit to Minna: A Milestone Development in Niger State

Bola Tinubu’s Visit to Minna: A Milestone Development in Niger State.” Today is a big day as President Bola Tinubu inaugurates the Minna International Airport; a milestone development in Minna, Niger State along with a new agro-processing zone and agricultural equipment. Former military leader Ibrahim Babangida opened the airport back in 1990.

Now, Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has renamed it Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna upon President Bola Tinubu’s Visit to Minna.

The airport got a makeover with a new domestic terminal to replace the old one with a short runway. The agro-processing zone covers 2,000 hectares, half for drip irrigation and greenhouses and the other half for processing dairy products. This will create more jobs and boost food production.

Governor Bago stressed the project’s importance, especially for Niger State’s cattle market. With the airport’s upgrades, transporting frozen meat will be easier, leading to more jobs and a better industry.

There’s also a plan for a 140-kilometer water channel from Shiroro Dam to support agriculture. It’s a long-term project, but the first phase will finish soon.

To support the airport, there’ll be an 80-megawatt power supply, making operations smoother and allowing for future expansions.

President Tinubu will meet with former heads of state, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, during his visit. This shows the importance of collaboration for national development.

This is a significant step forward for Niger State, showing progress, innovation, and growth for everyone.”
