Chidimma Adetshina Wins Miss Universe Nigeria 2024

Chidimma Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024. The 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria competition concluded with a grand finale this evening at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, where Chidimma Adetshina, representing Taraba, was declared the winner.

Her journey to the title has been nothing short of remarkable, reflecting the resilience and grace reminiscent of the Miss Universe South Africa incident. The 23-year-old born and raised in South Africa with a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother has been the subject of numerous controversies.

Chidimma, who withdrew as a finalist from the recently concluded 2024 Miss South Africa beauty pageant,  due to negative online comments about her nationality and accusations of fraud by the South African Home Office, joined the Miss Universe Nigeria competition after accepting an invitation from the organisers of the pageant, Silverbird Group.

The competition started with a total of 25 participants keenly contesting for the crown

The competition began with 25 participants eagerly vying for the crown. The top three winners were then announced: Miss Ondo was named Miss Lush, Miss Anambra was awarded first runner-up and Miss Supranational, and Chidimma Adetshina emerged as the overall winner of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.

“This crown is not just for beauty; it’s a call for unity,” Chidimma remarked after being crowned. “This journey has been tough, but I am so proud of myself and incredibly grateful for the love and support.”

Reactions on Chidinma’s Win “Miss Universe Nigeria pageant”

However, many south african and Nigerians alike have taken to social media to express their discontent with result.

Gats_Jr says, “Lawless country like that one makes me laugh to crown a froud”

_LeratoMabuzaM says, “Nigeria is lawless, what more can you expect from them”

Eliabethmokoe4 says, “it is a fact that Nigeria robbed other girls just to prove a point to SA that Chidinma can be Miss Nigeria if they want to”

Influencer Daniel Regha said “Honestly speaking, it just feels too predictable and so wrong that Chidimma who became a contestant last minute is being crowned the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024. Other contestants didn’t really stand a chance the moment she entered the competition and that’s the truth.”

iam_ojenba said, It’s amusing how people claim she ‘stole the crown.’ I’d love to understand how others were allegedly robbed, as it doesn’t add up. When she joined Miss Universe Nigeria, voting hadn’t started, and no tasks had been assigned by M.U.N. So, please explain how she stole the crown or disadvantaged others. She participated in every aspect of the competition just like everyone else. Let’s end this baseless criticism and celebrate her achievement instead”
lauretta_egboh says Even people who didn’t watch the show are busy opining nonsense. Her win was more than deserved. In all the contestants there, she answered her questions intelligently and accurately. On the flip side, she the crown given to her to redeem the image of Nigeria. South Africans did what they did because they wanted to make a mockery of us. We had to defeat every plan they had to ridicule us . You guys don’t understand that we’re in a tacit war with these people. Just rest with all your suggestions…..the win was both necessary and deserved.”
