Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has debunked the rumour that he has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and has decamped to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a post on his X account on Sunday, responding to the speculation, El-Rufai described the report as ‘patient lies,’ adding that he has directed his lawyers to pursue legal action against those disseminating the false information.

He wrote, “Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” El-Rufai posted on Sunday.
Similarly, an aide to the former governor described the claims as the work of mischief makers.
The aide stated that El-Rufai, a prominent figure within the APC, would not have defected to the PDP without publicly announcing such a decision.
