Former Real Madrid defender Vinicius Tobias is facing an unexpected revelation after getting a tattoo in honor of his newborn daughter, only to find out he is not her biological father.
The Brazilian right-back, now playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, welcomed his daughter Maite with ex-wife Ingrid Lima on October 8. In celebration, he had the phrase “Maite, I love you” tattooed on his arm.
However, the situation took a turn when Lima disclosed that she and Tobias had an on-and-off relationship during the time of Maite’s conception. A DNA test confirmed that Tobias was not the biological father of the child.
Ingrid’s social media post addressed the growing speculation: “I came to give a statement about something that is getting annoying and that, unfortunately, I would have to come out publicly to give you an explanation.”
According to reports, Tobias, who had announced the pregnancy in February, and Lima are no longer together due to alleged infidelity on both sides. Following the birth, she expressed gratitude for Maite but clarified the circumstances surrounding her conception.

In a follow-up Instagram post, Lima urged the public not to criticize Tobias, stating, “As everyone already knows, Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a long time, and during this period of separation, I had a relationship with someone else, and so did he. We both moved on with our lives, and in the middle of all this, Maitê was born. We decided to do a DNA test, and it turns out Maitê is not Vinicius’ daughter.”
She added, “I sincerely ask everyone to stop attacking him. It was my request that he not attend the birth or post anything about Maitê until the DNA results were in. Vinicius and I have already discussed everything and reached an amicable understanding.”
