In a bold statement to his congregation, Lazarus Muoka, the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, has issued a stern warning to controversial social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan.
Muoka cautioned that Otse should refrain from disparaging remarks about the church or risk facing divine repercussions.
In a recent online sermon shared on Thursday, Muoka remarked, “VeryDarkMan is learning something today in a hard way,” suggesting that Otse is experiencing difficulties as a result of his criticisms towards the church. This warning follows a surge of viral clips that circulated last month, showcasing church members sharing extraordinary and peculiar testimonies.
Among the testimonies featured in the viral videos was a claim by a member who stated that a lion had miraculously saved him from kidnappers.
Another female member recounted a dramatic encounter where she allegedly disarmed armed robbers, seizing their AK-47 rifles and leading to the arrest of three of the criminals.
Additionally, a male member shared his astonishing experience of surviving a kidnapping, machete attacks, and gunshot wounds “without injury.”
In response to these testimonies, VeryDarkMan publicly called on the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to investigate the church’s claims, accusing it of misleading Christians with exaggerated stories. He further threatened to take legal action against The Lord’s Chosen Church due to the nature of the testimonies shared by its members.
During his sermon, Muoka addressed these criticisms head-on, revealing that he had been informed of VeryDarkMan’s derogatory remarks about the church. He quoted the influencer as saying, “Chosen members will learn the hard way,” which spurred Muoka to respond.
He recounted, “Somebody came to talk to me and said, ‘Pastor, do you see this man that is talking against us? The man said Chosen people will learn something the hard way.’”
Muoka then made it clear that he disagreed with Otse’s assertions. “I said no, Chosen will not learn something the hard way, and that he is the one who will learn something the hard way,” he stated firmly. He emphasized that his intent was not to malign Otse, adding, “I didn’t speak evil of him. I only made a statement. I don’t want to speak evil because if I say anything negative or evil, it will happen immediately.”

In a continued effort to distance himself from negativity, Muoka proclaimed, “I cannot speak evil against any man, but I’m telling you that VeryDarkMan is learning something today the hard way. I didn’t say that in order to punish him; I only said what he said. If God’s anointed gets angry with you, you are finished.”
Muoka’s remarks come amid ongoing controversy surrounding VeryDarkMan, which has also included discussions involving notable figures like Bobrisky, rapper Falz, and his father, Femi Falana, as well as officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
