The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest of Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, after he was found in an uncompleted building with a married woman.
This incident was made public by the board’s Director General, Dr. Abba Sufi, on Friday evening.
Dr. Sufi stated, “Yes, it is true, we have arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa Commissioner, with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him.”
The arrest followed a series of complaints from Nasiru Bulama, the husband of the woman involved, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, who is the mother of his two children.
Bulama’s accusations included allegations of an illicit affair between his wife and the commissioner.
According to Dr. Sufi, the complaints were filed with multiple authorities, including the Kano State Police Command and the Department of State Services.
He elaborated, “Nasiru Bulama filed the complaint… alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife.”
In addition to the affair, the Director General revealed that Sankara is facing multiple legal issues.
“We have been having problems with Sankara because he is operating illicit drug centres in the names of hotels with prostitution and drug addiction activities,” he said.
Dr. Sufi confirmed that Auwal Danladi Sankara is set to appear in court on Monday to face charges related to his activities.
The Hisbah Board is taking this matter seriously as part of its efforts to combat immoral conduct and illegal activities in the state.
