The police command is demanding a full investigation into the incident and is calling for those responsible to be held accountable.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, expressed deep concern over the killing of SP Liman, who was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Wasagu Division in Kebbi State.

“The circumstances surrounding this heinous crime are alarming and unacceptable.”
ASP Abubakar explained that SP Liman was on his way to attend a monthly conference in Birnin Kebbi when he was stopped by military personnel. Despite identifying himself as a police officer, SP Liman was shot in the head by one of the soldiers.
“In a shocking display of aggression, Hassan pointed his gun at SP Liman and shot him in the head, resulting in his instant death. We condemn this unprovoked attack in the strongest possible terms and demand a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident,” the statement read.
