The visit, which was announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, comes just two days after Tinubu returned from a three-day visit to Equatorial Guinea, where he engaged in discussions and signed agreements on oil, gas, and security with President Teodoro Mbasogo.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Ngelale said, “President Bola Tinubu will embark on a trip to France on Monday, August 19, departing from Abuja, the nation’s capital. The President will return to the country after his brief work stay in France.” However, the statement did not disclose the specific reasons for the visit, leaving room for speculation.
One of the speculated issues Tinubu might address during his stay in France is the ongoing legal dispute involving two Nigerian presidential jets that were recently seized by a French court at the request of the Chinese firm Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd. The jets were impounded as part of a broader legal and diplomatic conflict, raising concerns about how this situation will be resolved.
