Rivers United are through to the group stage of the CAF Confederation after beating Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 2-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Sunday.
Both teams battled to a 0-0 draw in the first leg two weeks ago.
Rivers United won the second qualifying fixture 2-0 on aggregate.
Stanley Eguma’s side were made to work hard for their victory after missing two spot kicks in the encounter.

The Port Harcourt club are the only Nigerian club who have reached the mini-league rounds of a continental competition this year after Enyimba, Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance failed to do so.
