Rudeboy Accuses Mr. P of Stealing Song ‘Winning’ Amid Ongoing Feud

The feud between Nigerian twin brothers, Paul and Peter Okoye—popularly known as Rudeboy and Mr. P—has taken a fresh turn after Rudeboy accused his sibling of hijacking one of his songs.

In a dramatic Instagram post on Thursday, Rudeboy claimed that Mr. P’s recent single, *Winning*, was originally intended for his upcoming album and was unlawfully taken by the producer.

Rudeboy expressed his frustration, stating that the track in question was written and performed by him, with the same producer who had worked on his own projects.

“Written and sang by Rudeboy. Produced by same producer. Now how come? Now am I supposed to release another version? Mr. Producer, your case is for another day,” he wrote. He further clarified that *Winning* was one of six songs he had submitted for P-Square’s planned comeback album, which he intended to release next year.

In his post, Rudeboy also questioned the motives behind the decision to re-record his song word for word.

“Just a simple thing: bring six songs, let me bring six songs. I submitted six songs to the so-called management. Why are you singing my own song? Word for word. Song that was supposed to be in my album next year June,” he added.

The singer, known for his solo hits like *Fire Fire* and *Nkenji Keke*, made it clear that he would no longer tolerate what he described as manipulation in the music industry.

Rudeboy also threatened to release “original versions of any copied songs”, adding that “the days of manipulation are over”.

“The days of manipulation are over. And to the management, make I hear any song wey na only me sing, I go release the original version. Oloriburuku! Music is not that hard,” he declared, signaling a potential showdown over song ownership.

The accusation follows a string of tensions between the two brothers, who had a bitter falling-out after their successful run as the music duo P-Square.

In August, Rudeboy confirmed during an interview with *City FM* that P-Square was officially no more, and he made several allegations against Mr. P, including claims of financial mismanagement.

Mr. P, for his part, denied the accusations, and soon after, released a series of open letters on Instagram accusing Rudeboy and their elder brother, Jude, of embezzling funds from the group.

Despite the tension, Mr. P has continued to forge ahead with his solo career. Shortly after Rudeboy’s Instagram post, he announced the release of another new track, *Attention*, which he promoted on his social media.

Attention, audio out on all music platforms; make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel after listening. One love,” Mr. P wrote, showing no signs of backing down from his solo pursuits.

The ongoing public dispute between the Okoye brothers has captivated fans, as both artists continue to build their individual careers. Their reconciliation in 2021, followed by the release of their comeback album *Reactivated*, was seen as a hopeful sign for the return of P-Square. However, the album received a lukewarm reception, and both artists have since focused on their separate projects.

With Rudeboy’s recent claims against Mr. P, it appears the bitter divide between the twin brothers is far from over, leaving fans wondering what the next chapter in their saga will bring.
