The Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, revealed the new initiative, dubbed “WASSCE PC1,” during an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show.
The WASSCE PC1 exams will be held from January 24 to February 15, 2025, according to Kapi.
Kapi also explained that this program offers a faster route for students to improve their grades.
“Students who access their results now and realise they need to resit one or two papers have until 8th January to register online through our website or at WAEC-accredited internet cafés. The exams will take place from 24th January to 15th February 2025,” Kapi stated.
To support students in their preparation, Kapi also announced that WAEC plans to expedite the release of chief examiners’ reports.
These reports will offer ‘detailed feedback’ into areas where students may have struggled and how they can better approach their studies and the examination process, Kapi noted.

“We’ve advertised this programme widely through banners, our website, and our results checker platform to ensure that both students and parents are aware,” Kapi added.
Kapi also said students whose results have been cancelled due to exam irregularities are also eligible to sit for the WASSCE PC1 exams, provided they have not been barred from future examinations for malpractice.
According to him, the exams will be conducted in regional capitals due to the anticipated number of participants.
He, however, urged prospective candidates to complete their registration before the January 8th deadline to benefit from this new opportunity.
